PawStars ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: email address and password (managed securely via Supabase Auth).
Pet profiles: name, species, breed, age, photos, and bio you choose to share.
User content: photos, videos, captions, comments, and messages you post or send within the app.
Location data: approximate location when you use the Pet Map feature, to show nearby vets, stores, and events. Location is only accessed when the app is open and you have granted permission.
Device information: device type and OS version, used for crash reporting and app stability.
Push notification tokens: to send you relevant alerts (lost pet alerts, event reminders, messages).

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the PawStars app and its features.
To show you relevant content, nearby places, and community events.
To send push notifications you have opted into.
To detect and fix crashes and technical issues.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

PawStars uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Privacy Policy

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen, which permanently removes your personal data and all associated content from our servers.

5. Children's Privacy

PawStars is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
Data portability.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and row-level security policies on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Your continued use of PawStars after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
